Partial Rebuild

This was a partial rebuild of my previous system. Since taking this photo I've removed the gpu strimmer cable - it was a bit of an impulse buy and I didn't like that way it pulled the power connector on the gpu at an angle and it was blocking airflow. I upgraded my GPU from an EVGA (rip) 3080ti to a 5080. I also replaced the case, fans, and cpu cooler (hardline water loop to air-cooler). I had an entirely corsair ecosystem before (case, fans, and pump/reservoir combo for water loop). The old fans were quite weak and I really wanted that Lian Li look so I bit the bullet and spent the money. While the new fans look incredible and vastly outperform the cheaper corsair fans I had, the Lian Li rgb controllers are a bit limited in features compared to what iCue could do out of the box. Even though iCue can be a bit clunky the feature I was truly missing right away was the ability to have my lighting profile switched do a much dimmer profile automatically whenever I launch a game or 3D application. I was able to accomplish the same effect with openRGB, but it took quite a bit of legwork. Knowing what I know now, I would still do it again, I love the way this thing looks now and the fact that I can move the feet and front i/o from the bottom of the case to the top and have the viewing angle face either the left or the right is amazing. I didn't even know that was a feature until after I purchased the case and I can't believe I've never seen it on other cases. Who the hell decided that your pc always had to be left-facing anyway???? I also replaced my old 1000W psu with an atx compliant 1200W Platinum beast. When I bought my last psu I went overkill thinking it would have the headroom for AT LEAST 1 gpu upgrade, but then nvidia did nvidia things with power cables so I had to replace it after anyway. Hopefully this one gets me through my next gpu. My trusty 12900k keeps up just fine with the 5080 for the games I play. I was a little worried about going from a hard line water loop with 380mm radiator to air cooling but it stays at surprisingly reasonable temps when I'm using software that pushes to 100%. Overall I'm very happy with how this turned out.
