Build Description
This PC was built for both professional and gaming usage. It's powerful enough to run engineering, simulation, and creative software in addition to handling any modern game flawlessly at 1440p or 4k. The design is intended to achieve a clean, low-to-no-frills appearance that prioritizes functionality over fancy aesthetics. With the built-in MSI motherboard control firmware, it's easy to program the RGB lighting to reflect the CPU and GPU temperatures in real time, providing a visual indication of PC performance without needing to run monitoring programs. The case (Cooler Master QUBE 540) has many interchangeable/reconfigurable components, and I recommend using the non-glass panel on the component side to increase airflow and enhance performance while saving on fans. Highly recommend going with AMD for both CPU and GPU in 2026, especially if you have little-to-no interest in bothering with AI homelabbing or frame generation.
Favorite Feature
The case has naturally excellent airflow. The build is dead quiet even under load with only one intake fan (140mm) and one exhaust fan (120mm). The carrying handles also allow for easy relocation and handling despite the full-size ATX form factor.

Depending on your gaming needs, a 9800X3D may be overkill. Don't break the bank, it's actually much better to select a processor that suits your need such as the 7500X3D, which will perform just as well in most cases and save both power and output heat. There's no shame at all (and no clout or glory to be had) in using an excessively powerful CPU! I only went with the 9800X3D due to availability in my locale.

Highly recommend any 9070 XT GPU, offers the same (or possibly better/more efficient) performance as a 5070 TI at almost half the price. Just watch out for the 12V high power cables!
