Conquer Your Workspace: 3D Printed Storage Bins for Everything
These modular storage bins hold everything from 3D printing supplies to gaming accessories.Maker Projects

Whether you're managing portable hard drives, 3D printed accessories, or just a huge pile of cables and plugs, a cluttered workspace is the ultimate productivity killer. While generic plastic bins might do the trick, 3D printing fans have evolved far beyond simple boxes.
Modern 3D-printed storage is about modularity, stackability, and utility. After putting several designs through their paces, here are four standout models I found that can transform a chaotic workspace into a streamlined one.

Workstation Powerhouse: Stackable Storage Box System
If you're looking for a definitive bin that will look great, stack perfectly, and hold a ton, the Stackable Storage Box Workstation System is my current favorite. It's sturdy with enough capacity to hold large items, and has a wide opening for easy retrieval.
These also stack very nicely, and when printed in matte black PLA, look incredibly professional. It's probably one of the most versatile and expandable options for a serious tech setup I've seen.

This Forma Box offers a sleek, modern alternative to the more traditional crate-like look of some of our other bins. It utilizes a clean, geometric design language that leans minimalist and is perfect for items you need to access frequently, like paperclips, thumb drives, or adapter dongles. Plans are available for different sizes and you can also print lids with built-in trays for extra storage.
Classic Stack: Stacking Box V2
The Stacking Box V2 is a modern take on a classic design. It’s a rugged, reliable bin that prioritizes accessibility and stacks well. I love these in red, but yellow or blue would also work to mimic that classic office storage bin look.
Deep Utility: Buckets Stackable Organizer
These Buckets Stackable Organizer Bins have an especially wide mouth for easy access, and I liked that they stand out from the crowd with a two-tone design. They are also optimized for fast printing and low material waste and different sizes can be mixed and matched for the perfect setup.
Printing Tips
To get the most out of these models, consider these quick tips:
-
Filament Choice: For items like the Workstation System, a stronger PETG provides durability, while a matte PLA looks professional and prints quickly.
-
Wall Count: Increasing your wall loops to 3 or 4 will make these bins feel much more substantial and prevent the "flex" often found in cheaper thin-walled prints.
-
Labeling: Many of these designs leave flat surfaces on the front—perfect for a label maker or even a 3D-printed nameplate.
- Organizing a workspace is a continuous process, but with some 3D printing help, you can keep the clutter under control, even if much of that clutter comes from 3D printing all kinds of projects.
