You take it to the Micro Center Knowledge Bar, located in every location including our upcoming Austin, Texas store.

If you’ve got a virus, a failing hard drive, a stack of PC parts, or the all-too-common “I’m not sure what’s wrong with my PC,” the Micro Center Knowledge Bar has a service for you. Computer Repair and Services
Is your computer, laptop, or other electronic device slowing down, freezing, or otherwise acting up? Whether you bought your device with us or from somewhere else, we are more than happy to help provide repair and recovery services for just about any brand, including Apple. We’ll start any repairs with a comprehensive diagnostic to fully understand what may be happening to the device. Afterwards, we’ll reach out directly to you with updates and information. From there, you can pick up your device and attempt to solve the issues yourself, or leave it with our trained and equipped staff to clean up for you.

PC Build and Rebuild Services
Have you been eyeing your own custom PC, but worried about damaging something when building? Maybe you even have a pile of PC parts in the corner, just waiting for assembly. Rather than sit in the dread and anxiety of assembling a PC yourself, bring it into the Knowledge Bar. We can even get your PC built and running in the same day!*
We have a variety of build and rebuild services available, ranging from standard air-cooled builds all the way up to high-end, fully custom hard-line water loops. Whether your computer is an entry-level gaming rig or a high-end water-cooled AI powerhouse, our techs are ready to put it together.
*Build must be submitted to the Knowledge Bar at least four hours before closing for same-day pickup
Build and Learn Service
If you’ve got all those parts for a new PC build and don’t know how to put them together, but you want to learn, check out our Build and Learn service. We’ll pair you up with one of our technicians for your build. That tech will be exactly as hands-on (or hands-off!) as you want them to be. They can build the whole PC while you watch and learn, or just offer a guiding hand as you put your own PC together.

GPU Trade-In Program
If you’ve been eyeing a performance boost for your current PC and wondering what you’re going to do with that extra GPU after the upgrade, worry no more. Micro Center will offer your store credit for your old graphics cards. There are hundreds of models eligible for our Trade-In program and you can find out if yours qualifies with our helpful eligibility checker. Our system will be able to tell you the value of any GPUs you may have purchased, so long as the GPU was purchased at Micro Center and you provided your information at check-out. If the GPU was purchased elsewhere, it is still eligible for trade-in, but you’ll need to check via serial number instead.
Data Services
Eventually, data loss happens to everyone. Whether it’s a cracked screen ruining an old phone or a hard drive giving up after years of service, eventually some data will go missing. The best way to prevent that data loss is by backing up your drives — a service we do offer — but if it’s already too late and the damage is done, we can still help. With three distinct levels of data recovery and a “No Data, No Charge” policy, we can help recover data from broken phones, laptops, desktops, and just about anything else.
